The Administrative Evaluation and Development Program applies to all senior administrators and Vice Presidents who report to the President as well as to the direct reports of these Vice Presidents who have major programmatic responsibility impacting the overall leadership and management of the university. These are administrative and professional (AP) faculty positions.
In accordance with Section 3.9 of the Faculty Handbook, the Administrative Evaluation and Development Program is intended to be formative and to assist both the administrator and the department to improve. The President’s Office maintains the schedule for reviews of administrators covered by this program. Administrators are reviewed approximately every five years. Administrators new to their position are due for a periodic review within two years of assuming their new position.
In addition to assessing performance, this program is designed to aid in the professional development of senior leaders. It reinforces the university's commitment to enhance the university's leadership across the administrative units, develop greater bench strength at all levels of the institution, and prepare mid-level managers to become competitive for senior roles within the institution.
