    Emotional juggler

Target Audience:  A/P Faculty, T/R Faculty and Staff in pay bands 5 and above.

Course Description: Research supports that workers with high levels of emotional intelligence (EQ) are better leaders and more successful than workers who have only high cognitive intelligence. Learning about one's own EQ and how to improve it will be the focus of this training session. First, participants will explore why EQ is so important in the workplace and how it operates to promote success. Next, participants will explore their own EQ in a confidential assessment, and their scores will be interpreted. The remaining session will be devoted to learning and applying tools to increase one's EQ.

Course Objectives: At the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Define emotional intelligence
  • Explain the importance of emotional intelligence in the workplace
  • Identify their own emotional intelligence scores
  • Identify tools to develop and improve their emotional intelligence

*Pre-work:  Participants will be required to complete a pre-work assignment prior to the workshop.
