Target Audience:  A/P Faculty, T/R Faculty and Staff in pay bands 5 and above who manage teams, projects or individuals.

Course Description: This active workshop is designed to guide participants through analysis of their current communication practices and to identify opportunities for improved communication between and within departments. Using social capital as a focusing concept, the course highlights the importance of communication for building positive and productive working relationships.

Course Objectives: At the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Recognize their patterns of communication
  • Identify the strengths and weaknesses of their current communication practices
  • Develop new or improved communication strategies with co-workers within the department and in other departments
