Target Audience: Virginia Tech classified and university staff in pay bands 2-3 who perform a variety of duties including office management, bookkeeping, project management and supervision of other administrative personnel.
Program Summary: This program, formerly known as the Office Managers Development Group, was established in 1996. APDP is looking for nominees to participant in the program who want to further develop their knowledge, skills and abilities. Participants will be asked to commit approximately 2 - 3 hours of their work schedule per month. Advantages to members of the APDP program include:
Program Schedule: Meets the second Tuesday of the month from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon in Southgate Center, Room #142. Meetings include presentations on leadership, communication and other activities and run from September to June of each year.
Nomination Information: The nomination period starts June 1, 2009. The 2009-10 class, as with previous ones, will consist of approximately 25 members who meet the above criteria. If you are interested in participating, please discuss with your immediate supervisor. If you are a manager and would like to nominate someone from your department, please complete the nomination found and return to UPD, Campus Mail #0538. Forms must be received no later than Monday, July 13, 2009. Those selected for the APDP class will be notified by August 15, 2009.
