Lab Employee Professional Network

Target Audience: Virginia Tech technical laboratory and research staff.  Research faculty are also invited to attend as space allows.

Program Summary:  A leadership team from various departments and disciplines across campus is tasked with identifying and promoting professional development opportunities for technical laboratory and research employees.  The network hosts the New Developments in Laboratory Technology Vendor Exhibits and Workshops all day event in October of each year.  

Other responsibilities of the group are to: 

• Sponsor programs of general interest with guest speakers to o laboratory technical personnel 
• Provide opportunities for specialized training such as statistical analysis software, certification and licensure in specialized areas
• Identify occasions to share resources, expert knowledge and skills from different parts of campus
• Provide mentors for new laboratory technical personnel
